For years, Schlafly Beer could only be found in one or two locations at the home of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals. If you go back and take a look at some of our old Schlafly “Baseball” t-shirt designs, it’s clear that we had no problem playing up the fact that Schlafly was pretty hard to find at Busch Stadium and in some ways, the search was kind of part of the fun of being a Schlafly Fan at a stadium that, in more than just name, was truly a monument to our much larger brothers in brewing down the street.
In a 2009 Riverfront Times piece, Schlafly co-founder Dan Kopman was quoted as saying, “It used to be you had to have sunglasses and a hat on, and go, I’d, uh, like a Schlafly [in a low voice], and the person at the bar was like, Do you know the secret password?” Well, times have changed. Schlafly Beer is currently celebrating is 20th year of brewing in St. Louis and if you’re lucky enough to spend an afternoon or evening in St. Louis cheering on the Cardinals (sorry Cubs fans), you now no longer need to know the secret password to get yourself a delicious Schlafly Beer. The secret handshake, however, is another story.
Today, multiple styles of Schlafly Beer, including Pale Ale, Hefeweizen and Summer Lager, can all be purchased at Busch Stadium in a variety of vending areas around the ballpark. “Ballpark Favorites” in Section 162 even boasts a whopping 10 Pale Ale tap handles and a couple neon signs!
Currently, Schlafly draft beer can be found in Section 162, Section 140, Section 240, the 1st and 3rd base Red Birds Club, the #1 and #2 Dug Out Bars, Section 433, 265, 450, and 240. Schlafly bottles are set to be available at the Bowtie Plaza, Backstop Bar, Red Bird Club, Dug Out Bars, Section 130 and Section 240. You can also order Schlafly Bottles in your Suite by request. Beer styles available and locations will change from time to time, but we’ll do our best to keep you up to date. Thanks for your continued support of local craft beer and let’s root, root, root for the Cardinals!
