Old Winter Seasonal Favorites Return And They've Brought Some New Friends

As the cool autumn days of October give way to the chill of November, Schlafly Beer begins the annual transition from our fall seasonal lineup to our heartier, winter seasonal offerings.

As we speak, Winter ESB (Extra Special Bitter) and our newest Brewer’s Choice release, Schwarzbier are hitting the shelves throughout the Schlafly Beer distribution area.

Our ESB is a stronger (5.8% abv), maltier cousin of our Pale Ale style, that we dry hop with US grown Williamette hops. Schwarzbier (or black beer in German), is a traditional, malty German black lager, which is not as bitter as British porters and stouts and very drinkable.

Next Friday, November 4th is the projected ship date for the first batch of our hotly anticipated Coffee Stout, made with coffee from St. Louis roaster, Kaldi’s. If you have yet to try the tasty winter-warming nectar that is Schlafly Coffee Stout, you’re truly missing out…unless you hate the taste of coffee.

no20v3Not to be left out in the cold, this week also finally ushers in the bottled release of our third offering in our 20th Anniversary Series of beers; No.20 Volume 3: Citrus Witbier. Designed and brewed by our third generation of Schlafly brewers (1998-2008), this group was instrumental in our transition from local brewpub to regional brewery.

Citrus Witbier is a traditional Belgian-style white beer flavored with orange, lemon and grapefruit peel as well as coriander. This unique offering celebrating our anniversary is available now in 750 ml. bottles and in limited quantities. Pick some up while you can.
