As many of you may know, Schlafly Bottleworks has been closed for the week for renovations and improvements. Work to the facility was to include a brand new floor in our kitchen, a completely new paint job throughout the restaurant side of the building, a re-build of our walk-in cooler that most of our beer flows from to our bars, and a complete overhaul of our Crown Room bar, which also doubles as our brewery tour tasting room. As is common with construction projects, sometimes it’s only after you start making a mess that the surprises pop up and the best laid plans have delays. We’ve had a few such surprises this week and while the re-opening of Bottleworks will be delayed, it won’t be by much and have what we think is a fun plan in place to bridge the gap.
The front bar of Schlafly Bottleworks will re-open this Friday, Feb. 28th at 5pm. Beer will be flowing from the taps and we will have live music on stage from The Orbits from 9pm until midnight. However, our Bottleworks kitchen will not be open and it most likely will not re-open until Tuesday, March 4th. We know…we’re sad too, but we have come up with a way to make sure that you can still enjoy some tasty food while sipping your Schlafly that involves some of our Maplewood neighbors.
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Schlafly Bottleworks, in conjunction with GrubGo will be offering a special menu of food provided by our friends up the street in, The Post. There will be a dedicated delivery person bringing in food orders directly to our patrons. If you have ever dreamed of eating a burger in fries at Bottleworks, this weekend is your chance to live that dream! Want to bring in some of your own food, or even order in a pizza this weekend? We’re cool with that too.
As a special bonus treat, our neighbors at Strange Donuts are going to be at Bottleworks from roughly 7-10pm on Friday night selling some very special donuts (both sweet and savory) to our patrons as well. Beer and donuts is most definitely a match made in heaven.
The fun continues on Saturday with live music from the Margaret Bianchetta Trio from 2-5pm and Swing Deville from 9pm until midnight. Sunday morning features a Bob Case’s King Cake Party followed by our regular Bluegrass Jam from 3-6pm. Again, all weekend you are encouraged to bring in some of your own food to snack on while you enjoy the music and drinks, or you can order food from our special delivery service available tableside. At Schlafly, we are firm believers of making lemonade when live gives you lemons (or more often, making beer when life gives us barley, hops, water, and yeast) and we think this should be a fun and unique weekend all around at Bottleworks.
Oh yeah…we will also still be offering our free brewery tasting/tours all weekend long!
Thanks for your patience with this project and your continued support of what we do. We think you’re really going to like the new and improved Schlafly Bottleworks and we will keep you updated on Twitter and Facebook throughout the weekend and into next week with any changes to the scheduled re-opening.
