The Ghost of Robert Burns Returns To The Schlafly Tap Room

For those of you who wonder what Robert Burns is most famous for, think about that song everyone sings on New Year’s Eve. That’s correct! Burns’ Night is our annual, extraordinary celebration of the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796). Celebrated on, or about, the Bard’s birthday, January 25th, the event is ideal for brightening up the cold, wet and dark St. Louis winter evenings.

I'm Dreaming Of A Wheat Christmas

Schlafly Special Release Christmas Ale is currently out in the market, so I thought it would be fun to see if I couldn’t find out a bit more information about this always popular winter release for you good people. To do that, I went straight to the source and talked with the gentlemen responsible for creating the recipe for our Christmas Ale; James “Otto” Ottolini. Otto has been with Schlalfy almost from the beginning and he currently oversees all the brewing operations at our Bottleworks facility.

Great Moments In Schlafly Marketing History: "Remember Your First Time" Radio Ads

With just a few notable exceptions over the last 20 years (I’m looking at you “It’s Just Not Normal” campaign), Schlafly Beer has always handled its marketing and advertising efforts by an in-house “creative team”. This small and sometimes rotating roster (sort of like Menudo) of artsy folks has been entrusted with communicating who we are to the craft beer drinking masses and over the years, our shoestring budget and DIY approach to marketing has led to some interesting and often goofy results.

Mindy's Schlafly Beer Gear Is Here!

A few months back, through the magic of Twitter, I stumbled across someone selling an incredibly cool handmade Schlafly AIPA “luggage tag” online. It turned out that this “someone” was a crafty, craft beer enthusiast named Mindy Humphrey from Vancouver, Washington who was making accessories, such as wallets, purses, and luggage tags out of 6-pack packaging from craft breweries across the country.
