Schlafly Beer. Brewed in St. Louis.

Schlafly's Eclipse Field Trip

On August 21, 2017, the United States will experience its first coast-to-coast solar eclipse since 1918. For those living in the Midwest, it will be the first time this part of the country has been able to witness such a sight in centuries. The last total eclipse to be seen in St. Louis was almost 550 years before anyone had ever tried a Schlafly, in 1442.

This summer, we’ve designed some commemorative packaging to celebrate the Path of Totality - the path of the eclipse that will experience total darkness. Inside special edition 12 packs of Helles Lager, you’ll find  a pair of solar glasses that will help you watch the phenomenon happen safely, while you and your friends raise a Schlafly Beer to this once in a lifetime event. We’ll see you on the other side. Cheers!

While the special edition packaging will run all summer, Schlafly will also pack up the party on eclipse day itself, August 21st, with Schlafly’s Eclipse Field Trip. Come join us on a field trip to the Dew Drop Inn in Bloomsdale, Missouri to celebrate this historic event. We picked this location for our backyard BBQ because it is along the Path of Totality and the perfect viewing spot of the eclipse.
Limited tickets ($45) available here starting July 1st and include:

  • Bus transportation to/from Dew Drop Inn in Bloomsdale, MO
  • Beer on the bus, as well as at the event
  • BBQ lunch
  • Lawn Games
  • Live Music

*Bus transportation will depart from the Schlafly Tap Room at promptly 7am and return at approximately 5pm. Please arrive between 6:30am-6:45am to check in and receive your wristband.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yep, though it is a field trip, this event is 21+.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

If you purchase a ticket to Schlafly’s Eclipse Field Trip, we will meet at Schlafly Tap Room (2100 Locust St) and hop on the bus. We will leave the Tap Room at promptly 7am and return at 5pm. It’s normally an hour to the Dew Drop Inn, but traffic is expected to be insane. We will have plenty of beer to shorten the ride!

If you don’t want to come on the bus, but still want to come celebrate, the Dew Drop Inn will be open for normal business. Feel free to drive yourself down and come hang out, just keep in mind that lunch and drinks will not be included unless you purchase them yourself.

What can I bring into the event?

Your self, your friends, a good attitude and an appetite for science!
