 It has long been our desire to incorporate as many environmental (“Green”) considerations as possible into the operations of our breweries and restaurants. Issues such as minimizing waste, heat recovery, composting and recycling are being addressed as our company moves forward.
For now, here's how YOU can help:
RECYCLE
Take pride in recycling your Schlafly packaging...the cardboard cartons of our cases, the paperboard of our 6-pack cartons, our newsletter, and our glass bottles are all recyclable (for more information on our 6-pack cartons – see below).
Check with your local municipality about curbside recycling and other options which may be conveniently available to you.

 The option to buy renewable energy has come to St. Louis! Ameren UE, as part of their commitment to expanding the use of renewable energy, and in response to customer demand, is offering Pure Power, a voluntary renewable energy option. Pure Power is an easy, cost-effective way to support renewable energy.
Here's how it works. Anyone – individuals and companies large and small within the Ameren UE service area – can choose to enroll in Pure Power. Ameren UE then begins purchasing renewable energy certificates (RECs) from producers of renewable energy – initially, and for as long as possible, from Missouri-based renewable energy sources. For now, 100% of that energy will be from wind facilities and in the future up to 25% could come from other renewable resources like solar or biomass. For ind ividuals and small businesses, opting for Pure Power means paying an extra 1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour used each month (the average household uses 1000 kWh/month, which equals an extra $15). Ameren UE does not profit from the Pure Power program.
Large businesses get to choose their level of participation, buying as many 1000 kWh blocks as they want. Schlafly Beer will purchase enough blocks to represent 12% of our annual electricity usage, which makes us an Early Adopter and Pure Power Leader. We are very excited to join our fellow Early Adopters in helping to launch and support this new, Green opportunity.

• We will accept our used 6-pack carriers in decent condition (no rips, must stand properly and must look good). We reserve the right to refuse any 6-packs we find unacceptable.
• Return four (4) 6-pack carriers and you'll receive $.50 off your 6-pack or 12-pack bottled beer purchase (must be purchased at the time of return – we will not carry over discounts).
Eight (8) six-packs carriers receive $1 off, twelve (12) receive $1.50 off, etc.
