5050b6029faa1preview-300Cast your vote for the best grass-fed beef chili recipe prepared by Whole Foods Market’s very own team members at this free event! All 10 of Whole Foods’ teams will compete to win $500 to be donated to their favorite charity. Your votes, along with the votes of celebrity judges will determine the fate of the winners (there will be two winners – one determined by customer votes and one chosen by celebrity judges for another $500 winner).

In addition, Schlafly Beer will be passing out free samples of their fine brew as will Kaldi’s Coffee, two of our finest local vendors. And, to sweeten the pot, anyone who submits a completed voting ticket will be entered to win a $100 Whole Foods Market gift card.
The following celebrity judges will determine which chili has the best flavor, best texture and utilizes the most unique recipe:

    •    Andrew Mark Veety, columnist at FEAST Magazine, proud sponsor of the event again this year
    •    Patti and Mark Whisnant, Whole Foods’ local grass-fed beef producers and owners of the Whisnant Family Farm, which is donating all of the beef for the chili recipes
    •    Jean Ahsmuhs, marketing manager for Plaza Frontenac and Town & Country/Frontenac Chamber president co-chair

Match Meats is donating its vegan meat alternative, so non-meat eating customers can also participate in the cook off.

Live music will be presented by the Maple Jam Band with all activities taking place outside the store on the sidewalk and parking lot. Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate but bring an umbrella just in case!

An extra bonus: Whole Foods’ grass-feed beef will be on sale the entire weekend – from Fri., Oct. 26, to Sun., Oct. 28 - for $4.99 per pound, regularly $6.99 per pound.
