Cod & Cask Festival
The Schlafly Tap Room
2100 Locust St. (at 21st)
St. Louis, MO 63103
314-241-BEER x1
Praise be to COD! A weekend of beer battered Icelandic cod & chips fried and perfectly paired with cask-conditioned ales. Free and open to the public with live music!
COD, COD and MORE COD! We’ve got cod more ways than you can shake a fishstick at!
CASK-CONDITIONED ALES Nothing goes better with fish and chips than “real ale.” Carbonated in the cask and hand pumped to the bar at “cellar temperature.” Purely authentic, purely delightful and only at The Tap Room.
Here’s the line-up of some of the planned caskiness we’re preparing for this weekend:
- English IPA
- Dry-Hopped APA
- Oatmeal Stout
- New Zealand IPA
- Vanilla Milk Stout
- Coffee Stout
- Scotch Ale
- Smoked Porter
- Vanilla Smoked Porter
In addition to this line-up of fantastic Schlafly cask ale, here’s a few guest casks that will be opened this Saturday, starting at 4PM, as well:
The Civil Life Brewing Company:
American Brown Ale – 4.8% ABV 36 IBU
Perennial Artisan Ales:
IPA #1 – 7.7% ABV 83 IBU
A strong American take on the classic style, this dry IPA, bursting with big mango and peach aromas, has an assertive citrus rind bitterness and slightly fruity flavors, and is balanced with a bread-crust-like malt backbone.
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company:
Old Tjikko – 6.3% ABV 37 IBU
This strong spruce beer is an aggressively ‘pined’, higher ABV, palate smacker that gets its name from the nearly 10,000 year old Norway Spruce living in the climes of Sweden. Like its namesake this beer is dark, complex and fantastically fragrant.
