Show-Me-State musicians come out and show us what you’ve got! We’re looking to recognize, celebrate, and support, local musicians. The battle of the bands will be coming to St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, and Columbia. The best band from each region will then advance to the final showdown, where the winning band will be crowned the 2012 King of The Roots. The winner will get to play on the main stage at The BCNB Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival on September 21 and 22, 2012. We look forward to seeing you there! Doors open at 7pm, music starts at 8pm!
John Maxfield Band, St. Louis,
John Maxfield performs energetic and musically intricate original rock music with his band. The group’s repertoire is both extensive and diverse- spanning all sub-genres of rock music. The band’s infectious energy and charisma ignite audiences at every show.
The Thin Dimes
If Woody Guthrie had The Allman Brothers as his backing band it would sound like this. With energy comparable to The Avett Brothers, Last Minute brings a a live experience that is second to none in originality and soul.
Al Holiday’s Rhythm Revue
Soulful Rhythm Music.
Black Rock Revival
The music of Black Rock Revival is hard, funky, and loose. As a result of growing up listening to STAX music. They have a ghetto soul that pours out of the speakers that can only be described as Rock Soul. There is no one out there like them. Believe that!!!!
Beth Bombara crafts a blend of folk, alt-country, and indie-rock that sounds equally fitting alongside Hank Williams, Sr. and Neil Young as it does Neko Case and the Breeders. 2012 Recipient of the Best Singer Songwriter award, from the Riverfront Times.
