THE SKEKSES —Old-time folk meets the unholy blues hrough songs of murder, magic and monsters, carried by banjo, guitar, rattling percussion and Elly Herget’s stratospheric moan. These days, Magic City/Rough Shop’s Anne Tkach takes time out of her jet-set schedule to play upright bass with us. JJ Hamon of Demonlover and Magic City also hangs around occasionally.
IAN MCGOWAN AND THE GOOD DEEDS was born out of the singer/songwriter music of Ian McGowan…songs for the road and for lovers, and everything in between. But mostly those two things…A little bit of indie folk, Americana, and Blues
THE HOBOSEXUALS describe their identity through anti fascist lullabyes, comedic outlaw induced rambling, bar fly lamentations, and dirtbag shanties. It embodies a mid-western attitude of self-made life, freedom, oppression, depression, and intoxication. Steeped in that long standing american music tradition, The Hobosexuals draw from Country, Blues, Folk, and Bluegrass.
