Shine Your Own Color on These St. Louis Coloring Books

Monday, April 3 at Schlafly Bottleworks get coloring with six adult coloring books


ST. LOUIS, MO — Get coloring on Monday, April 3 at Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood. The latest, and greatest adult coloring books all created by St. Louisans will be available at this night that’s all about our colorful community. Six coloring books will be featured and for sale from 6-9 p.m., so grab your favorite colored pencils and markers to color the night away. The featured adult coloring books are: Painting for Peace: a Coloring Book for All Ages, A Goodnight St. Louis Coloring Book, Colorful St. Louis, St. Louis Splendor an Adult Coloring Book, Route 66 Splendor an Adult Coloring Book, and Schlafly Coloring Book. The majority of authors/illustrators will be attending the event as well. Schlafly Bottleworks is located at 7260 Southwest Ave., 63143.


Coloring books will be available for purchase at the event courtesy of Left Bank Books. Sample pages and coloring pencils (to borrow) will also be available at the event.


About Painting for Peace

Painting for Peace: a Coloring Book for All Ages, came from the award-winning children’s book, Painting for Peace in Ferguson written by Ferguson native, Carol Swartout Klein. Released in May of 2016, the 52-page lay flat coloring book, illustrated by Robert O’Neil, has more than a dozen illustrations to color. Create your own art inspired by the street murals that inspired the entire St. Louis community. The book also tells the true behind-the-scenes stories from several of the artists whose work is included in a coloring page format. Profits from both books are donated to youth and art nonprofits in region. Cost is $9.95 


About St. Louis Splendor

St. Louis Splendor’s 104-pages features 50 drawings of some of St. Louis’s most famous landmarks such as Fox Theatre, City Museum, and of course, the Arch. Images are hand-drawn by Jo Ann Kargus who has been a commercial artist/illustrator for more than 32 years. Cost is $15.95


About Route 66 Splendor

Route 66 Splendor adult coloring book takes colorists along the entire 2,451 miles of Rte. 66 highlighting iconic sites from Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier, with many stops along the way in Missouri. This is the second adult coloring book by Jo Ann Kargus who also created St. Louis Splendor. With 104 pages, the book retails for $16.95.


About A Goodnight St. Louis

With more than 20 whimsical illustrations, A Goodnight St. Louis Coloring Book also adds fun facts about each of the locations featured. From the authors and illustrator of the best-selling book, Goodnight St. Louis, their newest offering appeals to “kids of all ages” who love St. Louis and provides a “coloring experience where the city is your canvas and imagination is your guide.” The book retails for $16.95.


About Colorful St. Louis: The Coloring Book for the Self-Aware St. Louisan

The most adult of all the adult coloring books included at this event, this 48 page coloring book includes more than 40 “light-hearted” pokes at St. Louis and is definitely not recommended for children. Cost is $14.99.
